Tourists die

A helicopter carrying German tourists was buried by an avalanche yesterday in the Kamchatka peninsula in Russia, murdering at slightest 4 of eighteen people on board. Eight survivors were pulled from the snow. The helicopter was on the ground at the time.

Arctic first

A French path-finder has done the initial Arctic channel by balloon, alighting in Siberia five days after receiving off in Norway. Jean-Louis Etienne, 63, had planned to land in Alaska but a sirocco altered his course.

Pirates sunk

The United States army arrested 6 suspected pirates yesterday after they attacked a warship off the Horn of Africa.

The pirates began sharpened at the USS Ashland, an amphibious dock-landing ship, 380 miles off Djibouti.

The Ashland, that can lift 500 marines, returned glow and broken their skiff.

All 6 men were subsequently discovered from the sea.
